Notice is hereby given that due to Government advice regarding COVID-19, Oakham Town Council have taken the decision to suspend all public meetings. and cancel all events in Cutts Close.

No surprise with that announcement, I would expect our local town council to do nothing for our community in a time of what is fast becoming a bit of a crisis for some.

I fully understand meetings not being open to the public, but I would expect the council to hold some meetings to plan how they might support the community if needed.

I have always been criticised by them for pointing out that the town council has no plan and never discussed any action plan to offer support to the community in the event of any incident that might effect our towns residents

I was often told Rutland County Council would do that, But the town council could not tell me what that meant.

I assume during this period of the Town Council doing nothing the Clerk will continue to receive full pay for doing nothing.

Once again this shows in my opinion Oakham Town Council is a pointless waste of time.

A what a fantastic demonstration of the governments localism policy.
