Cllr Marc Oxley Steps Down as Leader of Rutland County Councils Independents and Green Group,
That move does not surprise after his performance at the Rutland County Councils annual meeting on Monday. His conduct suggested he is not fit to be a Councillor possibly due to poor health he mentioned or its just how he is these days. He is a former Libdem and Green Party Member.
Cllr Rosemary Powell takes over as leader of the Independents and Green Group She has also been appointed deputy leader of Rutland County Council.
The Independents Green Group have said it is regretful that Libdem Leader Cllr Gale Waller refused to accept a place on the new cabinet at Rutland County Council. I personally disagree, Gales conduct was very poor at the AGM and it was not good to see both her and former Libdem Cllr Marc Oxely publicly fighting about what goes on or outside the council chamber. It reminded me of Oakham Town Council. Perhaps it is time the Libdem's selected a new leader and then put them forward for the cabinet position. I think it is disgraceful at the first time in the history of Rutland County Council the Libdems had the opportunity to join the cabinet and work for a better Rutland and their leader turns down that opportunity.
