A Fleet of Removal Vans and Naughty Elves Clear Out Strays Coffee Shop, Oakham, Rutland.

After a turbulent few years in Oakham, Strays Coffee it looks as if it has finally closed its doors for good. A fleet of removal vans was spotted outside the shop this morning, with workers dismantling the interior and loading up boxes of equipment.

The closure comes as no surprise to many locals, who have witnessed the shop's struggles first hand. Strays Coffee has been dogged by controversy since its opening, with reports of unpaid staff and questionable business practices. The company's original owner, STRAYS OF OAKHAM LIMITED, was wound up with debts of over a million pounds. 

The Oakham shop first opened in November 2019

The shop's closure in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, was attributed to high rents and rates, while the Newark, Nottinghamshire outlet was closed ahead of a move into a new premises. The rather grand Ossington Coffee Tavern, also known as the Ossington Coffee Palace.

Despite the challenges, Strays Coffee's owners had always maintained a positive outlook.

Strays coffee shop first opened in Stamford Lincolnshire, bailiffs closed that outlet, the owners told local press they had no knowledge it was going to happen and said it was a mistake that would be sorted out.
