Honouring Remembrance: County Service of Remembrance to Take Place at All Saints' Church, Oakham

On Sunday 12 November, the County Service of Remembrance will take place at 2.30pm in All Saints' Church, Oakham, to honour those who have served and sacrificed their lives in the armed forces. This solemn occasion will commence at 2.00pm with a grand parade featuring military units, cadets, scouts, guides, voluntary organizations, and armed forces veterans marching from Oakham Castle along the High Street to the church.

The church service will be a poignant tribute to the fallen and a testament to the enduring spirit of remembrance. It will feature prayers, hymns, readings, and a minute's silence to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who have served in the armed forces. The service will conclude with a Wreath Laying Ceremony at Oakham war memorial in the church yard, this is a symbolic gesture of respect and gratitude.

Following this service, the parade will march back to the Castle, with The Lord Lieutenant taking the Salute on Oakham High Street. This grand display will serve as a visible reminder of the unwavering commitment to honouring those who have served and sacrificed.

All members of the public are warmly invited to attend the Service and should be seated in All Saints' Church by 2.15pm. This is an opportunity to pay our respects to those who have served and sacrificed their lives, and to reflect on the importance of peace and remembrance.
