Temporary Crossing Lights in Burley Road Oakham Rutland Vandalised Again

Temporary Crossing Lights in Burley Road Oakham Rutland Vandalised Again.

OAKHAM, Rutland - Residents of Oakham are once again calling for action to be taken after the temporary crossing lights in Burley Road were vandalised for the second time in recent months.

The lights, which were installed following a national grid power failure and have been a source of frustration for motorists and pedestrians alike, as they have frequently malfunctioned, leaving people stranded at the roadside.

The latest incident of vandalism happened after the lights once again were stuck on red, causing long tailbacks and delays for motorists. Pedestrians have also been affected, as they are unable to cross the road safely.

Residents are calling on Rutland County Council to take action to address the issue of faulty temporary lights in the county. They say that the lights are not only a source of inconvenience, but also a safety hazard.

"These lights are a joke," said one resident. "They are constantly breaking down and when they do, they are a nightmare for everyone. It's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt."

Another resident said: "I'm sick of these lights. They are a waste of money and they are making our lives a misery. I'm calling on the council to do something about it before someone gets hurt."

A Rutland County Councillor has said that the council is aware of the problem and that it is investigating the latest incident of vandalism. The council has also said that it is working to improve the reliability of the temporary lights in the county.

However, residents say that they are tired of empty promises and that they want to see action taken. They are calling on the council to take the issue seriously and to come up with a permanent solution to the problem of faulty temporary lights.

I personally don't think vandalism is the solution to the problem.
