The Geller Commission, led by Baroness Ilora Finlay, is conducting a comprehensive review of hospital care for people living with dementia. This review aims to identify current challenges and propose solutions for better care and support.

Kearns emphasizes the urgency of public participation:

"Having spoken to many constituents in Rutland struggling with dementia, I understand the profound impact it has on individuals, families, and the wider community," she states. "The Geller Commission's review provides a crucial opportunity to make real improvements in dementia care, and I urge everyone affected to share their experiences."

Kearns outlines her own local efforts:

"While I advocate for national change through my campaign, I recognise the need for immediate action in Rutland. Later this year, I will announce specific initiatives to improve early diagnosis, post-diagnosis support, and resources for carers and loved ones."

Call to action:

Ms. Kearns urges everyone affected by dementia in Rutland to submit their feedback to the Geller Commission before the deadline of February 29th. Sharing personal experiences directly on the Commission's website is encouraged: https://thegellercommission.org/
