Leicestershire Police Officer Faces Gross Misconduct Hearing

Leicestershire – A Leicestershire police constable is set to face an accelerated gross misconduct hearing next week. The officer is accused of misconduct while working remotely during December 2023 and January 2024.

It is alleged that on multiple occasions, the officer manipulated their laptop to simulate online activity while not carrying out work-related duties. This was reportedly done by continuously pressing a key to keep the laptop screen active and unlocked, creating the illusion of being online.

The force believes this action was intended to deceive colleagues and supervisors.

The officer is accused of breaching the standards of honesty and integrity, duties and responsibilities, and discreditable conduct. If proven, these allegations amount to gross misconduct.

The hearing will be conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams on Monday, July 29th, at 1 pm.
