Leicestershire Police officer PC Sarah Yendall is set to face a gross misconduct hearing next week following allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards children.

The incident occurred on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Halstead Road Playing Fields in Mountsorrel. It is claimed that while off-duty, PC Yendall engaged in an argument with two children, during which she displayed "unwarranted behaviour" causing them distress.

Furthermore, the officer is accused of failing to report the incident to the force. These allegations are believed to breach professional standards in terms of authority, respect, courtesy, use of force, discreditable conduct, and honesty and integrity.

The misconduct hearing is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 10:00 AM and is expected to continue for four days. Members of the public wishing to attend must register in advance by Monday, July 15, 2024, at 8:00 AM through the Leicestershire Police website. Attendees must adhere to specific conditions, including a prohibition on photography and recording.
