Oakham Community to Remember Southport Tragedy
Oakham - In a show of solidarity and compassion for the victims of the tragic incident in Southport, a local resident is inviting the community to come together in a moment of quiet reflection.
Lynne Whitehead will be lighting a candle in a lantern at the Queen Elizabeth II Statue in Oakham at 9am on Saturday morning, the 3rd of August. This poignant gesture aims to remember the young lives lost in Southport and to offer support to those injured, both adults and children.
The community is warmly invited to join in this moment of remembrance.
However, due to the current dry weather conditions and safety concerns, it is kindly requested that no naked flame candles be brought.
B&M Bargains has a range of affordable LED candles available for those wishing to participate.
As we come together as a community, let us offer our thoughts or prayers to the families affected by this heart-breaking event.
