Police Constable Receives Final Written Warning

A Leicestershire police constable has been issued with a three-year final written warning following a gross misconduct hearing.

The officer, PC Sarah Yendall, was found to have engaged in inappropriate behavior towards two children during an off-duty incident at Halstead Road Playing Fields in Mountsorrel last October. Additionally, she failed to report the incident to the force.

A misconduct hearing determined that PC Yendall's actions breached several professional standards, including authority, respect, and courtesy; use of force; discreditable conduct; and duties and responsibilities.

Superintendent Alison Tompkins emphasized the public's right to expect high standards from police officers and the force's commitment to holding officers accountable for misconduct.
