Rutland and Stamford Sound Secures Ofcom Grant

Rutland and Stamford Sound Secures Ofcom Grant

Local community radio station, Rutland and Stamford Sound, has celebrated a significant achievement after being awarded a grant from Ofcom's Community Radio Fund.

The station faced fierce competition from across the UK, with only eleven grants being awarded from a total of eighty-one applications. The funding will be used to appoint a new part-time Business Development Officer, who will work alongside Station Manager, Rob Persani, to enhance the station's long-term financial and operational sustainability.

"We are thrilled to have secured this grant from Ofcom," said Rob Persani. "It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers over the past three years. The new Business Development Officer will play a crucial role in building stronger partnerships with local businesses and community organizations."

Rutland and Stamford Sound has been broadcasting since March 2021 and has seen significant growth in its audience. The station's DAB+ service, launched earlier this year, has provided listeners with an additional way to tune in.
