Flood Alert
A Flood Alert—meaning flooding is possible—remains active for the River Wreake catchment, which includes Langham Brook and Whissendine Brook. This is not a Flood Warning (which means flooding is expected).
Message to Residents: Safety First
The Council’s primary message is one of extreme caution for everyone, particularly road users heading into the evening.
DO NOT walk or drive through flood water. The depth can be difficult to judge, especially in the dark, and hidden hazards like debris or missing drain covers may be present.
DO NOT ignore road closed signs or flood boards—they are in place for your safety.
Road users should take extra care, especially on rural roads, by slowing down and allowing extra space and time for journeys.
