Rutland County Council is currently recruiting for a full-time Environmental Compliance Officer to join its environmental services team on an on-site basis in Catmose (LE15 6HP). Offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, the role comes with a competitive salary of £34,434 to £36,363 for a 37-hour working week.

Hands-On Responsibilities and Site Management
This is a hands-on position embedded within a small, collaborative team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that the council’s waste sites operate safely and in full compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Core duties include:
Acting as the Technically Competent Manager at the council's Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs).
Supervising external contractors to ensure site operations rigorously meet Environment Agency permit conditions.
Leading on local environmental enforcement activities, ranging from educating and supporting residents to executing formal enforcement measures.
Interacting directly with members of the public and local stakeholders to promote best practices in waste management.
