Vote, Sam Asplin - Lib Dem candidate for Whissendine, Rutland, 16th October 2014

Sam Asplin - Lib Dem candidate for Whissendine

Sam Asplin is 21 and works in Whissendine as a teaching assistant at the village primary school whilst studying for a maths and teaching degree to pursue a career in teaching. Sam has been a member of the Liberal Democrats from the age of 17 and has also been a member of the Rutland and Melton executive committee for the last year.

Sam is standing with the aim of strengthening the position of the Lib Dems on Rutland County Council and increasing their ability to hold the Conservative administration to account.

Sam is also standing to prevent the Conservatives from gaining the ward unopposed. As a young candidate Sam hopes that, if elected, he'll be able to use his position to engage more younger people to vote and get involved in politics themselves.
