A Busy Week For Rutland’s Neighbourhood Policing Team

by Martin Brookes

The safety of our community relies on more than just responding to calls; it’s about being present, visible, and proactive. PCSO Beth has been out across the county this week, putting in the miles (and the steps) to ensure Rutland remains a safe place to live and work.

Here is a quick look at what the team has been up to during their latest set of shifts:

Preventing Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) remains a top priority. PCSO Beth has been conducting targeted patrols in known hotspots to deter disruptive behavior. In addition to residential areas, these patrols have focused on our countryside to deter rural crime, protecting the farms and businesses that are the backbone of our community.

Sometimes, the best way to police is on foot. PCSO Beth joined forces with PCSO Etienne for an extensive area search in Melton. By the end of the shift, the duo had clocked a staggering 25,000 steps! This level of foot patrol allows our officers to access areas vehicles can't and engage directly with residents along the way.

Public safety also means keeping our roads moving. PCSO Beth attended a Road Traffic Collision (RTC) at a busy junction in Melton this week, assisting with vital traffic control to keep motorists safe and ensure emergency services could work effectively.

Additionally, the team conducted a thorough search for a prolific offender known to the area, keeping the pressure on those who repeatedly disrupt our community.

With two shifts still to go in this current set, PCSO Beth and the rest of the Rutland team are looking forward to staying visible.

"It’s been a busy few days, and there is plenty more to do. I look forward to seeing a few more friendly faces out there before my set is over!"  PCSO Beth

Stay Safe, Rutland.
