Leicestershire Police Officer Faces Gross Misconduct Hearing
A Leicestershire police constable, PC Elliot Watson, is scheduled to appear at a gross misconduct hearing on Monday, September 9th, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Leicestershire Police Headquarters.
The allegations against PC Watson stem from an incident that occurred on September 5th, 2023. It is alleged that while parking his car at Leicestershire Police Headquarters, PC Watson collided with another parked vehicle belonging to a police staff member.
The charges against PC Watson are as follows:
Failing to Report an Accident: It is alleged that knowing or believing he had been involved in an accident, PC Watson did not report the collision or leave his details at the scene.
Denial of Involvement: It is further alleged that on September 25th, 2023, during contact with another officer, PC Watson denied any knowledge of the incident.
These alleged actions are said to constitute a breach of two key professional standards:
Honesty and Integrity: PC Watson's actions, if proven true, would demonstrate a lack of honesty and integrity expected of a police officer.
Discreditable Conduct: The alleged behavior is said to bring discredit to the Leicestershire Police force.
The Hearing is Open to the Public:
