Pavilion, Home Farm Close, Burley, Rutland County Council Approve Retrospective Planning Application

A planning dispute with Rutland County Council has come to an end.

Pavilion, Home Farm Close, Burley approved in 2004.

Further alterations were approved in 2007.

Then the previous owners built a little more than the planners agreed.

Rutland County Council issued an enforcement notice for the building to be scaled back but the new owners,

Anthony and Donna Barney, took it to appeal in July.

The owners submitted a new application to retain the extensions and the inquiry was adjourned until a decision was made.

The plans were approved by Rutland County Council’s development control committee on Tuesday

The Pavilion, Home Farm Close, Burley, Rutland County Council A public inquiry adjourned, 15th August 2013

The Pavilion, Home Farm Close, Burley, Rutland County Council A public inquiry adjourned,  to 15th August 2013.

The Planning Inspectorate yesterday commenced an inquiry into The Pavilion in Home Farm Close, Burley.

Rutland County Council issued an enforcement notice to the owners of The Pavilion

Councillors agreed in September last year to take enforcement action, voting to strip the property back to what it had permission for in 2004.

Against planning officers recommendations.

An application to keep the house as it stands had also been refused.

The notice gave the owners two years to make changes, including reducing the height of the roof.

The owner appealed against the ruling.

The Public inquiry will recommence 9.30am 15th August 2013 at Rutland County Council’s offices in Catmose, Oakham.

The Planning Inspectorate, Public Enquiry, The Pavilion, Home Farm Close, Burley, Rutland County Council

A public inquiry will be heard to Wednesday.

The Planning Inspectorate will hold the inquiry into The Pavilion in Home Farm Close, Burley.

Rutland County Council issued an enforcement notice to the owners of The Pavilion

Councillors agreed in September to take enforcement action, voting to strip the property back to what it had permission for in 2004.

Against planning officers recommendations.

An application to keep the house as it stands had also been refused.

The notice gave the owners two years to make changes, including reducing the height of the roof.

The owner appealed against the ruling.

The Public inquiry will be heard at 10am Today Wednesday at Rutland County Council’s offices in Catmose, Oakham.

I find it very odd that all the original work was carried out under the supervision of a planning officer
and this build said to be worth around £2,000,000 only became an issue for the council after the owner
run into difficulties and the property was then sold on by the bank.

This is looking to be a very costly exercise for all involved.

Personally £2 million or not it is an ugly build  I thought it was going to become a Lidl.
I don't think anything should be demolished due to the waste of materials.

The planning officer should be sacked.

The Ward Councillor Deputy Tory Leader Terry King should resign.
Last year I listened at planning meetings and was like many was horrified to hear
that most of the decisions made on this property were decided by the planning officer and
Terry King and not the full development and control committee.
