Crown Gardens, Penn Street & Brook Road Rutland Rutland County Council Road Closure Notice

RUTLAND COUNTY COUNCIL DISTRICT COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY DIVERSION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) CROWN GARDENS PENN STREET AND BROOK ROAD   PARISH OF OAKHAM ORDER 2016

Rutland County Council District Council (‘the Council’) has powers under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) to make traffic regulation orders affecting the adopted highway within the County of Rutland.

TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council now proposes to make an order entitled the Rutland County Council District Council (Temporary Diversion of Vehicular Traffic) Crown Gardens, Penn Street and Brooke Road Parish of Oakham Order 2016 as the Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted because works are proposed to be executed on or near the road.

The effect of the order will be to allow for the closure/restriction of those lengths or roads specified in the Schedules to this Notice.  

The Order will come into force when the appropriate signs are erected, on or about 1st March 2016 and will have a maximum duration of 18 Months. Work is expected to commence on 21st March 2016 and will last for approximately 1 day.  

Reasonable access for emergency service vehicles, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.

SCHEDULE 1

Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic

Phase 1: Those lengths of road known as:
Crown Gardens for its entire length; Brooke Road from Mill Street to Penn Street  
Shall be closed between 08:00 hours and 17:00 hours

Diversion:  Via South Street, Uppingham Road and Cricket Lawns with a reciprocal route
 
Phase 2:  Those lengths of road known as:
Brooke Road from Welland Way to Penn Street Penn Street  from South Street to Brooke Road  
Shall be closed between 08:00 hours and 17:00 hours  

Diversion:   Via: Welland Way, Balmoral Road, Braunston Road, West Road, Cold Overton Road, Barleythorpe Road,  Melton Road, High Street and Mill Street with a reciprocal route.
 
SCHEDULE 2
Temporarily Rescind the One Way System:
The length of road know as:  

Penn Street:  From South Street to Brooke Road.    Between 08:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs    

SCHEDULE 3
Temporary Parking Restriction:
Penn Street:  Both sides of the street from the ATC building to Brooke Road.  
Between 08:00 and 17:00 hrs
