John Deere 6630 Tractor Leicestershire Constabulary
PCSO Steve Houghton (6127) worked in the agricultural industry for over 20 years. As a PCSO he is seen out and about in the villages of north Rutland, He works alongside the rest of the neighbourhood beat team to combat and reduce rural crime and to work in partnership with the local community to tackle the issues that matter to them.
He also works with the force wildlife liaison team to deal with any wildlife based issues in Rutland.
In the background is PC 4074 Sue Cockerill, Sometimes seen about town or the chip shop Ashwell Road. It is always said if you want a good take away look out for the police. Other officers frequent the take away near Jinky's so that must also be good.
Leicestershire Constabulary John Deere 6630 Tractor.
The tractor has been loaned to the Police by John Deere UK Ltd. for the purpose of highlighting the increase in rural crime, in particular the theft of tractors and other valuable agricultural and plant hire machinery.
This tractor costs around £80,000
In 2009, tractors worth more than £45 million were stolen, so far this year over 600 machines worth a total of £25 million have been taken. most of these are stolen to order, loaded onto articulated lorries and then shipped abroad, ending up in Eastern Europe, Afghanistan or Iraq.
This tractor is fitted with the following security features that are designed to protect the tractor against theft or to aid its recovery if it is taken;
CESAR registered - 4 triangle markings on the bonnet and chassis - www.datatag.co.uk
Vapourmatic electronic immobilizer - number code operated.
Enigma Tracking Device - Allows both real time and historic data reports to be generated and viewed on the tractors movements
Enigma remote immobilizer - Allows the engine of the tractor to be turned off and immobilized remotely at the request of the Police.
Leicester Constabulary does not specifically recommend any individual brand of security device, all the devices fitted to this tractor are available from a range of manufactures.
Any information regarding the theft of Tractors, agricultural or plant hire machinery should be reported to Leicestershire Police
