Festive Spirits Soar as Oakham Hosts Bustling Winter Market
The chill in the air did nothing to dampen community spirits on Sunday, 1st November, as thousands of visitors flocked to Oakham for the annual Winter Market.
Despite the very cold weather, crowds turned out in impressive numbers to explore a array of market stalls. The festive excitement spanned right across the town, with stalls lining the High Street and Marketplace, stretching into the grounds of Oakham Castle, and extending to the Wisteria Hotel.
Local traders and artisans offered everything from handcrafted gifts to delicious seasonal treats.
Adding an extra touch of magic for younger visitors, Santa Claus made a special appearance, strolling through the town to chat and share festive wishes with families throughout the day.
Organised by Carolyn Acton Events, the bustling market was hailed as a resounding success, bringing warmth, vibrancy, and an early boost of holiday cheer to the heart of Rutland.
