Britannia Grand Burstin Hotel, Folkestone, The Harbour, Marine Parade, Folkestone CT20 1TX What is the smell?

I have stayed at other Britannia hotels before and this one is not as disgusting as any of those. The Gran Burstin was tired,  a little bashed up and smelly.

People often say you get what you pay for when talking about Britannia Hotels. I disagree. If the booking payment system on Monday was working I could have found my self staying at a Travel Lodge for the same price with a clean and fresh environment.

I notice the restaurants at Britannia are always good when it comes to a clean environment. I assume that is because they are inspected and rated by the local authority.

I wonder if its not time for a similar inspection and rating system is started for hotel rooms.

The Britannia Hotel does not clean rooms during a stay. They claim the rooms are sanitised after each guest leaves. This in my opinion means beds are made towels changed and bins emptied and a plastic bag containing coffee etc. is placed next to a dirty kettle. I must not forget the sticker stuck to the door lock.

Febreze purchased from Asda helped make the mask the stink. that was also a feature of the corridor.

The water system is very noisy and the hot water appear to be limited.

The Wifi did not work. I was able to connect and the internet did not work.
