The Rutland to Melton Cicle Classic is a one-day professional road cycling race held annually in the East Midlands of England. The race was first held in 2007 and is now part of the UCI Europe Tour, with a classification of 1.2. The race is known for its challenging course, which includes a number of cobbled sectors, and its close finishes.
The 2023 race took place on Sunday, 23 April. The race was started in Oakham, by Alicia Kearns MP for Rutland and Melton. finishing in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. The race covers a distance of 183.5 kilometres.
The 2023 attracted a strong field of riders, including many of the top names in professional cycling.
The Rutland to Melton Cicle Classic is a popular event with both spectators and riders. The race is known for its friendly atmosphere and its challenging course. The race is also a great opportunity to see some of the best cyclists in the world compete in a challenging and exciting race.
Luke Lamperti (Trinity Racing) edged out Belgian ace, Tijl De Decker (Lotto Dstny) right on the finish line in Sherrard Street to win the 17th edition of the epic event. Close behind, in third place, was Cycling Sheffield's James Mckay.
