Wetherspoon Acquisitions, today confirmed they have purchased the former
Royal British Legion Club on Oakham High Street,

It will be good to see this building put back into good repair.
sadly it will see the loss of the two Lime trees outside the entrance
to the left not shown in this picture. The application was approved
last June 2011 by Oakham Town Council and Rutland County Council.
The  Lime trees reflect the name of the building once known as the limes,

Wetherspoon have exchanged contracts and hope to complete the
purchase mid December 2012.

They hope a pub will be open and trading just before Christmas
2013.

As for the premises next door recently vacated by Furleys
local rumour could not yet be confirmed.

The local rumour is the property may also be let to Wetherspoon.
