Joy Clough Barleythorpe Road Ward Oakham Town Councillor Resigns

Joy Clough Barleythorpe Road Ward Oakham Town Councillor Resigns

Another person who wanted to do something for our town has resigned from Oakham Town Council.

Dave Romney, Adam Lowe and the dishonest clerk need to stop behaving in the way they do.
They bully anyone who wants to see change.

Personally,  I see Oakham Town Council is run just to keep the clerk in employment. She does almost nothing, this proven when Councillors who sit under Adam Lowe and Dave Romney's thumb send me messages stating "the clerk does not do ask the council asks her"
When the current pandemic broke out the council shut down and did nothing for our town.
It is still doing nothing for our town and we are all expected to keep paying for it.

Joy was treated in the same way I was, communications blocked and the Clerk lied about her accusing her of bullying for asking simple questions. It a the job of a Councillor to ask questions.
It is the job of the clerk to provide those answers and to send notification of meetings to all members of the council.

Even members of the public can ask questions and should. I ask why they employ a dishonest clerk
who can not even carry out simple task like updating the council website.

There are currently five vacancies at Oakham Town Council. There has been little promotion to fill these empty seats. The only on-line promotion I have seen is Cllr Adam Lowe tagging in his friends on a Facebook page and that is one of the problems.

This council needs to serve our town, since the localism act of 2011 it has had the powers to do so much for our town.

It  could do so much for our town, Cinema, Community Radio just a couple of things it could do but won't. The big question why?

There is a opportunity for five residents to try and make a difference.

(Soon to be six)

don't worry about the date deadline.

If people don't want to be co-opted they can write to the returning officer at Rutland County Council
to call an election in any of the four wards that have vacancies. Ten residents from each ward need to call elections.
