John Noel Management present Mae Martin - Slumber Party, The Belmont Hotel, Leicester Comedy Festival

John Noel Management present

Mae Martin - Slumber Party

After a stellar year (Russell Howard's Good News, BBC Radio 4), Canadian Mae Martin is gleefully reliving the traumas of her melodramatic adolescence, and the disappointment of the 2012 Apocalypse, in Slumber Party. Let's have a nice time, for once in our terrible lives!

Beyond Compere present Laurence Clark: Killing with Kindness, Embrace Arts, Leicester Comedy Festival

Beyond Compere present

Laurence Clark: Killing with Kindness

We’re all scared of saying or doing the wrong thing around disabled people. By and large, a good rule of thumb has always been to treat others as you would like to be treated yourself... which is all well and good unless you are a sadomasochist! Even Laurence, who has cerebral palsy, can get it wrong from time to time.

Awarded Funniest New Comedian (Shortlist), Laurence starred in BBC1’s “We Won’t Drop the Baby” and was a finalist in the Edinburgh Laughter Awards 2012.
“Blackly funny” Daily Telegraph
“Natural wit” Daily Express
"Laurence Clark has a wit drier than the Navajo desert, a control of timing that would put Seiko to shame and scores upon scores of fizzingly funny one-liners." The Stage
"Close to the bone and very funny... makes Chris Morris look lightweight. Dangerously funny." The Scotsman

Ivo Graham: Binoculars

‘One of the best young comedians around’ **** Time Out

At just 23 years old, Ivo Graham‘s gauche charm belies a talent rarely seen in someone so young. The Eton alumnus combines insightful stories of adolescence with a sharp witted presence that has rapidly gained him the acclaim of his audience, fellow artists and the critics alike. Ivo brings his show to DLCF after a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2013.

‘Beautifully-constructed comedy’ The Scotsman

**** The Independent

In his first year of performing Ivo was awarded the acclaimed So You Think You’re Funny New Act competition at the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe and was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Chortle Awards. While still at university in Oxford he began doing professional gigs around the country and also performed abroad at the Montreal Just For Laughs festival and the Hollywood Fringe. Since graduating in 2012, he has been working on his first solo show which he will be taking to Edinburgh in 2013.

Ahir Shah: Anatomy, Leicester Comedy Festival, The Criterion

Ahir Shah: Anatomy

After enjoying a hit run at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe, Ahir Shah brings his show ANATOMY to Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival for one night only. Utilising the medium of Funny Amplified Jokes, ANATOMY is an hour of precise, exacting, lucid stand-up about the body, the mind, knitwear and - well, y'know, that sort of thing.

Ahir thinks you'll enjoy it, but don't take his word for it; take the selectively quoted journalistic opinions of people you will probably never meet:

"A playful hour of unapologetically cerebral laughs [...] Anatomy is one of the most thoughtful and compelling hours you're likely to come across" - ★★★★ Fest

"Anatomy oozes wonderful, beautiful, almost poetic language [...] This is undoubtedly a comedian I could listen to for hours" - ★★★★ Broadway Baby

"Some jokes are inaccessible" - ★★★★ ThreeWeeks
