Oakham Festival Launch night photographs



Oakham Festival runs from 15th June to 1st July and has events throughout these two weeks with the middle weekend in the Funky Tent at the Castle.
The festival launched last night at Oakham Castle. There was wine and a special orange and green festival nibbles.
Why not enter the  Photography Competition - Win £50 and your photo’s posted on the festival website.

There were performance from the Oakham Dance School



The Dukes  of Rutland performed 
they wont mind me saying they were much more 
fun in a pub surrounding later in the evening
They can be seen at the Railway Inn each Monday evening 

Oakham Mayor councillor Alf Dewis enjoying a orange juice.
Pity a few other councillors did not follow his lead and walk home
instead of driving 
after  they had enjoy a few glasses of wine.

Corby Male Voice Choir, Oakham Festival, Friday 17th June, St Josephs Catholic Church












Corby Male Voice Choir, Oakham Festival,  Friday 17th June, St Josephs Catholic Church 7.45pm

This award winning choir will be singing a variety of music from West End shows to Opera

A glass of wine or soft drink is included in the ticket price and the proceeds go to Aid for Chad.



OAKHAM FESTIVAL 2011 is part of Rutland Festival Fortnight. It runs from 17th June to 3rd July and has events throughout these two weeks with a finale weekend in the Funky Tent at the Castle.

The Four Winds Festival at Normanton, Rutland Water on 25th and 26th June will be a spectacular event culminating in two performances of The Way the Winds Blow, written and performed especially for the festival.

Sponsored by Oakham Town Council and Rutland County Council with your money, both organisations currently refuse to consider grant applications from any other groups in Oakham or Rutland so make the most of this event its all we shall see this summer.
