Oakham Mayor Adam Lowe No Change For 2017
Although the rules clearly state the chairman has no more powers than any other member of the council and it is also a rule that no member can tell a Clerk what to do the clerk tells me he is
following the Mayors decision not to provide me with a copy of a letter read out at last nights meeting I wonder why the clerk has decided to follow the Mayors instructions. The only thing silly about this is the refusal of the council to issue a copy of a letter that had a significant impact upon a
councils decision. My request is not silly Mr Plum
Dear Adam
This morning I made a simple request of OTC, the acting clerk has described this as a "silly request"
I am told you have given instructions that I can not receive a copy or the reference number of the FOI that
was read out at last nights meeting.
The document played a significant part in a the outcome of a council agenda item.
The document is a public document and I request again that you provide me with a copy of the FOI read out
at the meeting or the reference number so I can find it on the RCC website.
I am frankly sick and tired of your conduct you have not legal powers to instruct the clerk or the assistant clerk
in the way you continue to do.
I also request the acting Clerk does not tell me that my requests are silly and then hang up on me.
The reason I ask is because even when I review the video I can not understand all that Cllr Michael Haley has
said.
The acting Clerk also told me the document was handed to the council by a member of the public
please can you tell me who that was?
From
Martin Brookes (Cllr)
