Oakham’s main post office is closed today, with services moving to a newsagents shop in the High Street.
The new location offers longer opening hours.
The post office in Market Place shut for good at 5.30pm today and will reopen at Mc Coll's at 1pm tomorrow.
The new post offiice will open from 7am to 8pm Monday to Sunday.
The old post office building, which was built in the early 1970s building, also houses the sorting office which will continue to operate from the premises. It was also until 2007 home to the Job Centre.
The payphone kiosks were not used much and
contain adverts that belong in a museum.
