Oakham Town Council Agenda Meeting 14th January 2015
Once again Oakham Town Council has failed to comply with the localism act
by failing to publish the Agenda for next weeks meeting.
Updates of the Town Councils website have ceased since the clerk was forced into
long term sickness by the deputy Mayor Cllr Alf Dewis.
The Town Council has also failed to publish updated contact details of Councillors.
I ask one of my ward Councillors Adam Lowe, why the website is not being updated. He responded
in front of The Mayor Cllr Jayne Woodcock it is not our job as Councillors. That may be correct
but it is a councillors job to ensure local government laws are followed and applied. Nothing
surprises me anymore when it comes to Oakham Town Council conduct.
The Town Council is clearly suffering by putting all its eggs into one basket, what I can not understand is why after so many periods of long term absence the assistant Clerk has not been
trained to do all his work. She is currently doing most of his work for a lot less pay and work less than half the hours.
