Oakham Town Council Budget Statement 2017 - 2018

I asked the Clerk to provide me or the council with a current budget report.

I was surprised to only receive a print out of the budget we approved at the
beginning of the year and no statement showing the current budget position.

What is annoying about this is it proves Oakham Town Council just make up
the budget and spends as they go along and don't even consider the budget.
That explains why there were so many over spends last year. They call it
a flexed budget. What a joke.

A long time ago the council spent thousands on new accounting software
it is obvious that not all the capabilities of that software are being used
when we agreed to purchase the software we were shown example reports
and told reports were easily created with a click of a button.

Looking at the print outs we are given each month, they look no different
from the ones we have always been given each month and nothing like
the examples provided by the software company.
