For some time now I have been asking for the external audit report to be brought to
Council to be formally accepted and recommendation as instructions and action.
Something that is required to be done so that we can answer the annual return this year.
In previous reports the External Auditor has mentioned this failing.
We should not receive reports and just file them away.
First our Mayor Adam Lowe said at a meeting Grant Thornton does not
produce a report?
Yesterday I wrote to the Clerk, either the Clerk or the Assistant sent this
response:

I replied stating I would be publishing the email and sending it to Grant Thornton shortly
afterwards I received this reply:

Oakham Town Council is an embarrassment to our County
it is childish and very damaging to members of our community.
OAKHAM TOWN COUNCIL OFFICE HAVE SENT ANOTHER EMAIL SAYING THE
EMAIL ABOVE IS NOT A RESPONSE TO MY EMAIL ABOUT THE EXTERNAL AUDIT
what is interesting is Oakham Town Council is constantly pulled up by Grant Thornton
for it failure to put the reports before council and they take no notice
