Oakham Town Council have refused to issue copies of the previous bank statement
because it contains the name of the person they paid £18,000
They could redact the name or do they have something else to hide.
I have requested the missing copies to be distributed at this Wednesdays meeting
I guess my request will be ignored.
It is becoming very frustrating that this council can avoid complying with the laws
and there appears to be no one to enforce the laws.
I am still awaiting a copy of the most recent internal audit report from last month
you would expect after a month the council would have distributed to all members
and published it for the public to see, what are they hiding.
The last response I received from the assistant Clerk was the report was being looked
at by the finance working group (Cllrs Haley and Hopkins the councils financial wizards!)
she added the Clerk will publish it soon and does not have to until the end of the year.
What utter rubbish the internal audit is a rolling programme and is meant to give councillors
and the public that the council is following is procedures correctly and to wait until the end of the
year is rubbish the purpose of the internal audit is to ensure things don't go wrong and if they are
councillors are meant to ensure things are put right.
I no longer have any confidence in the financial working group for months they have failed
to provide a single report to council. There is no report for this months meeting.
