Cycle Racks, Oakham Town Council and Rutland County Council
Yesterday Oakham Town Councillors considered an offer from Rutland County Council to fund
additional cycle racks throughout the town.
Cllr Lockett suggested they should have some located in the area near Cutts Close, The area now closed of
with bollards. The reminded him the area he was suggesting was the church yard. Cllr Lockett asked if the
cycle racks could not be disguised as grave stones.
Cllr Lucas suggested the design of the racks proposed by Rutland County Council were hideous and other designs that blended in to the different surroundings should be considered.
Oakham Mayor Cllr Lowe said the benefits of the Manchester design was you could tie your horse to them.
It was unclear to me what the Councillors decided to do.
