Public Deputation Rutland County Council Oakham Town Council Boundary Change Request Larkfleet Homes

I forgot I had five minutes and rushed a bit. more used to giving three minute deputations
at the Town Council that is not interest in public opinion about anything.

Oakham Town Council sent a request signed by the Mayor Cllr Jayne Woodcock
requesting a boundary review, the town council wants to expand and take over
the parish of Barleythorpe the sole reason financial gain.

Cllr Alan Walters declared an interest because he is a town councillor and he tells
me he wrote the letter with help of another unnamed person.

I would have thought Rutland County Councillor would have also declared
he is married to the Mayor / Chairman of Oakham Town Council.

He later spoke in support of Roger Begy's proposal to forward the request to
the electoral commission.

Cllr William Cross put on a super show. which involved the Chief Executive and
what looked like the destruction of her lap top! He felt the historic parish should
be preservered.

Cllr Richard Gale said resident might have a lot to say about the request.

I hope so.

Roger Begy explained to members how the residents will have to be consulted and
given a choice.

He suggested they might want to join Oakham and they might like to set up their
own parish council.

What he forgot was they might decide they don't want a parish council.

Surprisingly that is an option open to Oakham resident if they did not want their
costly pointless town council.
