Ronald Ball, Police and Crime Commissioner, Warwickshire

Ron Ball
Independent
Force area:
Warwickshire

Ronald Ball

Election statement:
As someone who has had experience as a magistrate, a school governor,
a national executive member for the British Airline Pilots Association and completed
a 40 year career as a commercial airline pilot I believe I am well qualified to take
on the role of Police and Crime Commissioner for Warwickshire. On my website
(www.ronball4pcc.co.uk) you will see that people from my past activities have
generously endorsed my decision to stand in this election. My manifesto is based
on common sense. My primary responsibility will be to reduce crime and disorder
in Warwickshire. I will achieve that by supporting firm but fair early intervention for
low level, first time offenders to help to get them back on track and to help them to
stay there. For other offenders my role will be to work with the chief constable to
ensure a high morale police force, achieving high detection rates delivering offenders
to the courts with a high probability of conviction.
It is my firm belief that policing and party politics should be kept at arms-length
wherever possible. If elected, my concerns would be to reduce crime and disorder
by listening to the views of ALL of the people of Warwickshire and not to any
particular section of the community to which I may have a party allegiance.
Sir Robert Peel said “the police are the public and the public are the police”.
I wholeheartedly agree with that. He made no mention of political parties.
By voting for me you will be voting for someone with experience and someone
who will not bow to inappropriate political influence.
Prepared and promoted by Ronald Ball,  Apartment 6,

Warwickshire Police, Police England and Wales Police and Crime Commissioner elections, 2012

Warwickshire Police

Fraser Pithie, former councillor, is the Conservative candidate. Fraser is a retired senior manager of a FTSE 100 company who has lived in Warwickshire all his life.
He cares about his community and has unique experience of serving it: he was a Special Police Constable for eight years and is a former chairman of Warwickshire Police Authority.

James Plaskitt, the former Labour MP for Warwick and Leamington, is the Labour candidate. I will recruit more police officers
