Rutland County Councils Tory, Leader On BBC Inside Out, Blamed an initial deficit of £3 million, for the Highest Tax in England, how is this true?
I watched Conservative Roger Begy Leader of Rotten Borough Council blame a deficit on funding
17 years ago when Rutland obtained independence.
This can not be true? because the council immediately set about building a multi million pound
extension to its offices at Catmose. The building even today is vastly under used.
The council has stashed away nearly £9 million in reserves.
Does Roger Begy think we are idiots? probably and that's fine because the Tory conduct committee
ruled it was acceptable for him and his fellow Tories to use that description of people they don't like.
It's time Roger stopped fobbing us of with tales of the past, services the council provide have been
cut or stopped. Staff slashed.
The only thing that has not been cut is the Tory Allowances and the salaries of the over paid senior
staff like the Chief Executive Helen Briggs.
