In accordance with the requirements of the Local Government Act 1972, you are hereby summoned to attend a meeting of Oakham Town Council on Monday 30th  January 2023 at 6.00 p.m.  The meeting will be held at the Town Council Offices, Rol House, Long Row, Oakham, LE15 6LN

1. APOLOGIES AND REASONS FOR ABSENCE:  To receive and approve apologies for absences 


2. DECLARATION OF MEMBERS’ INTERESTS AND APPLICATIONS FOR DISPENSATION:  Reminder to Members to disclose either a Pecuniary Interest or Other Interest in any item on the agenda.  The clerk cannot advise members on this. Members are personally responsible for declaring an interest. Members are respectfully advised to read the Code of Conduct for more information. Councillors are also responsible for ensuring that their Registers of Interests are up to date (within 28 days of any changes)


3. DEPUTATIONS FROM MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC:  An opportunity for members of the public to speak in accordance with Standing Orders 1 (d)- 1(i)


4. STAFFING COMMITTEE

To confirm the accuracy of the minutes from the meeting held on the 16th January (to follow)


5.    EXEMPT ITEM

To consider the following resolution: “That, in view of the confidential nature of the following agenda item, the press and public be excluded from the meeting, in accordance with the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960, section 1”


6.   STAFFING ISSUES 

 To discuss issues raised following the previous staffing meeting

To approve the minutes of the meeting of the Staffing Committee held on Tuesday 6th

5. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
Members are asked to declare, if required:
(i) Any Disclosable Pecuniary Interest they may have in respect to items on the agenda
(ii) Any other interest they may have in respect to items on the agenda

6. DEPUTATIONS BY THE PUBLIC
 Members of the Public are invited to address the meeting in accordance with the procedures laid
 down in Standing Orders 1(d) – 1(i)

7. EXEMPT ITEMS
(i) To decide whether to exclude the Public and Press during considerations of Items 8, 9
and 10 on the agenda, under Section 100 (2) of the Local Government Act 1972, due to
the confidential nature of the matters to be discussed
(ii) To decide whether members of the Council who are not members of the Committee may
remain during consideration of items 8, 9 and10 on the agenda

8. STAFF SICKNESS (Appendix B)

To consider absences of the employed staff through sickness for the period October 1st
 2012 –
September 31st
 2013 and to make appropriate recommendations, if necessary, to the Council


9. ANNUAL APPRAISAL OF THE ASSISTANT CLERK (Appendix C – Agreed objectives)
 To discuss the Appraisal and to agree on any recommendations to be made to the Council

10. ANNUAL APPRAISAL OF THE CLERK
