A Splendid Afternoon of Sunflower Picking and Charity

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon in September, and I was excited to be visiting Rutland Vineyard with my friends for their annual charity sunflower picking event. The vineyard is located in the heart of Rutland, England.

When we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly staff. We then headed into the sunflower fields, which were in full bloom. The sunflowers were tall and colourful.

We spent the next hour or so picking sunflowers. We found all sorts of different varieties, from tall, stately sunflowers to smaller, more delicate ones. We also found some sunflowers that were in the process of turning to seeds, which we knew would make great bird food for the winter.

After we had picked our fill of sunflowers, we headed back to the cafe for a bite to eat. The café serves up delicious food and drink, the cheese was delicious.

It was a wonderful afternoon at The Rutland Vineyard. We had a great time picking sunflowers, enjoying the food and drink, and exploring the vineyard. We also raised money for a good cause, which made it even more special.

If you're looking for a fun and relaxing day out, I highly recommend visiting Rutland Vineyard. The sunflower picking event was a great way to support a local charity, and you'll also have a chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery

Some people enjoyed a picnic sitting on the straw bales.

The annual event costs £10 per person, and all proceeds go to Don't Lose Hope, a local mental health charity.

There is no limit to how many sunflowers you can pick.

They also produce and sell their own honey.

Sunflower Cutting £10 for as much as you can carry, this weekend at The Rutland Vineyard Barrowden Road Ketton PE9 3RJ For Rutland Sailability Wonderful view of Collyweston and Wildflower Meadow

A wonderful afternoon out and helping to raise funds for a good cause. If I forget I fell over hurt my knees and ripped my trousers.

The only thing that annoyed me was some people who had enjoyed the sunflower picking and a ice cream. Felt it was perfectly acceptable to dispose of the plastic container, in the farmers field.
