While working in an art gallery, a nerdy and conscientious student named Adam meets an iconoclastic artist named Evelyn and is instantly smitten. As their passionate relationship develops, she encourages Adam to change in various ways that shock his close friends, Jenny and Phil. When events progress and Evelyn's antics become darker, her influence begins to twist Adam and his friends in hurtful and surprising ways. Don’t miss this darkly comic performance of Neil LaBute’s caustic tale, 'which confirms once and for all Oscar Wilde's dictum that "all art is immoral"' (Guardian, 2011). Performed by Sixth Formers of Uppingham School directed by Bobbi Nicholson. www.uppthearts.co.uk |
