defamatory unlawful Oakham South Oakham Town Council Election Publications
It has been brought to my attention that a number of posters have been published this weekend and
posted at various public locations throughout Oakham.
The content of the posters is mainly defamatory. The publications are in breach of election laws and
will be report to the electoral commission and Leicestershire Police.
Part of the poster campaign includes a copy of a leaflet delivered to a former Oakham Mayors home.
After receiving an offensive letter with my leaflet enclosed. I suspected this individual and decided to mark my second leaflet I delivered to his home.
I visited the former Mayor and challenged him with the evidence and notified him of my intention to
report him to the electoral commission and the police.
I would like to thank all the residents who have contacted me or come to see me today and told me how unfair they think this persons actions are.
