Five men arrested and charged after Cottesmore Hunt spectators including a child were allegedly assaulted in Ashwell Road on the Edge of Oakham Rutland yesterday lunch time.
Leicestershire Police said that officers from the Melton and Rutland Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA) were appealing for witnesses after two men and a teenage girl were allegedly assaulted in Oakham.
Officers said three people – two men aged 61 and 52 and a 15-year-old girl – were watching the Cottesmore hunt when they were allegedly assaulted by a group of men.
A 61-year-old man was reportedly punched to the face while the others reported they had been pushed, say police. None of them required hospital treatment, added police.
Leicestershire Police said: "As a result of initial enquiries, five men from Greater Manchester were located nearby and arrested in connection with the incident."

They have each been charged with using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour to cause harassment/alarm/distress and have been bailed to appear at Loughborough Magistrates’ Court on 2 March.

Matthew Slater, 39, of Woodfield Road in Altrincham
Charley Waring, 25, of East Street in Edgeley, Stockport
Cameron Allman, 21, of Dorland Grove in Heaviley, Stockport
Reuben Waterhouse, 21, of Victoria Road in Offerton, Stockport
The charges relate to an incident in Ashwell Road which happened between midday and 1pm yesterday (Saturday 29 January).
