Leicester County Council trials Environmentally Friendly Street Lighting and Traffic Management
The eco friendly street lighting and traffic management lights have been installed on the approach road
leading to Melton Borough Councils office.and road leading to Morrisons
The Conservative council welcomed Leicestershire County Councils effort to conserve energy.
Inspector Watt at Melton Police station, said "at first the public raised concerns about the new level of
lighting. These concerns were soon forgotten, no one goes out after dark, This makes mine and Sergeant Thomas Edison's job so much easier.
Nearby Rutland County Council has expressed an interest in this money saving idea.
Cllr Cash King portfolio holder for petty cash and the wider planet said "Anything to save the pennies or the planet is cool with me."
