There was a time when people used to line up down the road to see a film at this cinema. The longest wait I ever saw was for the film Grease, my sister saw it four or five times!

There used to be another cinema next door the Palace, sadly knocked down, for a branch of W H Smith Do It All. (focus). Not a welcome development to Letchworth, at that time the Garden City Corporation were not always good at preserving the heritage. The are now as they purchased this Cinema to preserve it. The Garden City Corporation is now Letchworth Garden City Heritage

Letchworth Museum North Herts District Council, Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire

North Herts District Council, Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire are closing down the Museum and transferring its exhibits to Hitchin's Museum.

A great loss to the local people, Although not much has changed inside since I was at school. The museum was packed with young people enjoying School holiday activities.

Used over many year by various Hertfordshire County Council Departments and The Job Centre and Social Security Offices.

I preferred the Rose Garden. The Queens Silver Jubilee, (1977) Fountain has also been removed.
A new fountain has been place at the top end of the garden.
