Royal Visit Questions And Answers
Leicester City Council has provided more info updated: 4.15pm on Monday 5th March 2011
You will be able to see the royals entering and leaving Magazine Square and Cathedral Square, but because access at both of these locations is likely to be very restricted your best view will probably be near the Clock Tower and on High Street.
Live footage from each venue will be broadcast as it happens, on the Big Screen at the bottom of Humberstone Gate, so this will be a good place to see what's going on across the city.
However, because access at both of these locations is likely to be very restricted your best view will probably be near the Clock Tower and on High Street.
Bus services
Most bus services will be running normally. However, due to temporary road closures, there will be no buses serving any stops in the Haymarket and Belgrave Gate area from approx. 5.40am on Thursday morning until around 3.30pm in the afternoon. This also means some bus stops will be relocated on a temporary basis.

Car parking
City centre car parks will be operating as normal although it may take longer to get in and out of the Haymarket shopping centre car park.
Road closures and street parking
We'll need to temporarily close a number of roads around the venues being visited by the royal party that day. Unfortunately, we are unable to highlight what these are in advance for security reasons. This will also affect street parking in and around those areas. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The palace doesn't publish any visit timings in advance, so the best we can say is mid morning at the university, lunchtime at the cathedral and at the Clock Tower in the afternoon. However, because access at both of these locations is likely to be very restricted your best view will probably be near the Clock Tower and on High Street.
Will there be a viewing point for disabled people?
There will be viewing areas for people with disabilities at the Clock Tower and Leicester Cathedral. Stewards will be on hand at both locations to advise where these areas are. Access will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Will transport and traffic in the city be affected by the visit that day?
