THERE IS A MEETING OF OAKHAM TOWN COUNCIL
WEDNESDAY 2ND MARCH 2011 AT 7.30PM
AT THE OFFICES OF OAKHAM TOWN COUNCIL,
VICTORIA HALL, 39 HIGH STREET, OAKHAM

APPROVAL OF ABSENCE?

Members are will be asked:
(i) To consider whether to approve the absence of Cllr George Swiffin since
September 15th 2010 from all meetings of the Council and its Committees on
the grounds of ill health in accordance with the Local Government Act 1972
Sections 85(1) and 85(2)
(ii) To approve the continuing absence of Cllr George Swiffin from all meetings
of the Council and its Committees until May 9th 2011 - this being the date at
which all members of the Council formally retire from office following the
Local Government Elections scheduled for May 5th 2011

Personally I think it would have been better for him to retire and receive thanks for his service instead the council wants to extend his time and then he will then I assume just vanish with no thanks after the election.

RENT REVIEWS councillor will discuss and appove annual rents for the following organisations:
(i) Oakham Fitness Centre for the period April 1st 2011 – March 31st 2012 (increase their debt)
(ii) Oakham Bowls Club for the period April 1st 2011 – March 31st 2012
(iii) Oakham Smallholder’s Association for the period
April 1st 2011 - March 31st 2018
(iv) Elm Close Leisure Garden’s Association for the period
April 1st 2011 – March 31st 2018

This is nothing to get overexcited about as most rents will only increase by a couple of pounds in accordance with the terms of the tenants favourable leases.
