Mr Peter W Jones (Conservative) - OAKHAM SOUTH WEST WARD is there anything this Councillor does in this county that does not loose the tax payer money?
Thousands are lost each year.
Town Partnership has no money and now hands over projects to other organisations like The Town Council to continue.
The Castle is one of his responsibilities and that is losing thousands each year and now he wants to privatise it!
The cinema and theatre at the museum is expected to lose at least £16,000 this year. If this was a normal business it would be closed down. I am not suggesting it should but its clear it needs promoting by someone who knows what they are doing. Something that is lacking at the moment, as hinted upon in a letter in this weeks Rutland Times.
I predict the summer event at Rutland water will make a huge loss especially if his begging bowl is not filled with the £25,000 he is asking of the Arts Council. I admire the support and hard work from a few around him including Councillor Joyce Lucas who he said he could not stand. If he consumed a little less maybe his eyes would see a clearer picture. Large events take time to organise and this event seems to appear to be put together in a rush at the last minute. I have seen no advertising so I am not sure how he expects to sell 10,000 tickets for this event?
