Oakham Town Council, ######### my second response

The following post has been edited, at the request of a named person and company. The previously named person and company claim the inclusion of their names is defamatory. This would suggest to me The Clerk who now says he was only joking has been slanderous.  After some negotiations, I have decided to remove the names. I find it strange I can not mention a firm that works for the Town Council, who are paid for by the tax payer. This decision is taken to save the public any further costs. I have personally told the person I had not intended to cause their firm any embarrassment and said sorry if this was the case.

Dear ###########

Thank you for coming down to your reception to see me with your practice partner. I am sorry things got a little heated.

I left the office to seek legal advice from the lralc using the phone at Oakham Town Council.
I made many attempts to call them no reply. I don't have a phone at home, I gave up after 30 minutes. I hope they will pick up my email soon.

My blog posts and email sent have all been published in my capacity as a Town Councillor. You disagreed with this and said they were all personal. When I have previously said my blog was personal, Councillors have disagreed. Standards for England also disagreed, so who is correct the Councillors, Standards for England or you?

I repeat any action you take should be directed to Oakham Town Council and not me personally

I will support any case you bring against Oakham Town Council.

Whilst at Oakham Town Council offices I spoke to the Clerk and I said, "I will not take the blame for this", his response was "no your just out to get me".

People make mistakes and these can be corrected and the Town Council is insured in respect of this type of mistake made by the Clerk.

No one is out to get anyone as far as I am concerned.

By publishing what I did, I am merely protecting myself as a Councillor, I most certainly don't want to be associated with any discussions of bribery at any Town Council meeting and you have of course disassociated yourself from the Clerks suggestion and comments relating to the subject.

I feel Oakham Town Council is currently taking a very inactive stance about what is a very serious matter caused by the Clerk

I also suggest you may like to obtain a copy of the meeting minutes. I trust you will find my questioning has been recorded
