Chairman of the Leicestershire Police Authority, Barry Roper, Good Bye

Conservative County Councillor Barry Roper, Chairman of the Leicestershire Police Authority says its regrettable the authority will be abolished next year.

I say great take the politics out of policing, for far to long Rutland County Council Conservatives have held a strangle hold over an infective police force.

Its about time the government also took away the police self regulatory powers, because they don't work.

I am personally still awaiting nearly 10 months I believe for the results of three simple complaints against former Rutland Chief: Inspector Monks. Three simple complaints about his abuse of his authority.

Under Barry Ropers chairmanship Leicestershire Police have had to deal with some very high profile investigations, each time they publicly show remorse and as expected each time the outcome of any investigations comes to nothing.

Its no wonder members of Leicestershire Constabulary like Cllr Adam Lowe write to me taunting me about the outcome of my complaints. It appears the police have become accustomed to the fact internal investigations don't cause them any harm.

I watch dispatches last night on C4 and was interested to note from the programme, Leicestershire Police could learn from Essex Police. Racist Hate mail is intercepted at the post office and handed to Essex Police.

It appears Leicestershire Constabulary don't have any relationship with Royal Mail here in Rutland or Leicestershire as my post lady is happy to deliver post to my home, addressed in anyway friends of Rutland County County Council care to think up.

Once Inspector Monks was moved to Loughborough, local officers have taken too handling these letters in the correct way. They no longer vanish or get lost, they are correctly crimed and tested.

I hope the newly elected Police Commissioner is not a Rutland Tory...
