Now that Oakham Town Councillor Alf Dewis has taken over the role of Chairman of Oakham Town Partnership.
I am concerned this is a conflict of interest and will effect his role as a councillor.
Although his involvement may mean the death of the partnership I and others have serious concerns.
For example at the last public meeting of the OTP the developer was Waitrose was present to arrange a meeting to gain support from the Town Partnership.
I spoke to the developer that evening and was able to blog information given to me before a press release was issued.
The same concerns are also relevant to other Councillors who are members of the Partnership.
For example Oakham Town Councils Chairman of Planning and Parks is also a member, Cllr John Nowell.
If councillors Alf Dewis and John Nowell are so pig headed that they don't feel they need to declare their interests when the Town Council is considering awarding the Partnership funds. Despite a friendly warning being given. But then change there minds when a standards complaint is raised and then cause a farce at Oakham Town Council when they had to revisit the item at another meeting so they could declare.
Can they be trusted to declare on more serious issues such as planning and development of Oakham?
As for the Standards complaints, I am sure nothing will come of them Rutland County Council will make sure that they are ignored like the other serious complaints I have made. Although they were happy to pass on any complaint in any form by the sack load against me.
I can see it now, Notice: the sub committee has decided the complaint was related to actions made last year therefore enough time has passed so it would not be worth us taking this matter any further.
