The Wihan Quartet formed in 1985 are
heirs to the great Czech musical tradition;
their outstanding reputation is for the
interpretation of that native tradition.
They have an impressive international
career. They are frequent visitors to the
UK and have won many international
competitions. During 2008 they
completed the first ever cycle of
Beethoven Quartets in Prague which
was recorded. Their recording of Dvorak
Op34/Op105 was chosen as a recording
of the year. They are Quartet in Residence
at Trinity College of Music in London.
As supporters of the Cavatina Music
Trust they give many concerts and master
classes to young people in various parts of
the country.
